It is always exciting when a new issue of Ranger Rick comes in the mail. How precious are they?

Blood of Man-Watch
Okay, there is so much good music that I am loving right now. Dirty Projectors Bitte Orcha is just an awesome EP that makes me fee like I am listening to a Led Zepplin meets Prince baby in a cloud. But I am also just loving Mason Jennings on electric guitar...and this interview just sums it up, I love when these songs come on in my car and rattle the windows a little.
Good stuff Mason, rock on.

Hermione Lives at My House

Dear daughter is living and breathing Harry Potter as we speak. She has already figured out what a wonderful powerful character Hermione is and has pledged her faithfulness by being not Laura Ingalls(gasp) but Hermione for Halloween. Thankfully hidden in the back of her dad's closet was a tie of gold and red perfect for Gryffindor. My thoughts on my wee sorceress are deep lately. I am letting go slowly and I think after tonight's talk at the Walker with Astra Taylor that I am going to let her learning go almost completely self directed. Sorry honey, I am going to sneak some math in.

Coming out of the Closet
So I have not talked about this much yet to anyone not in my immediate perimeter (literally in the neighborhood) but Little Girl has started this school year out without a school or as she has named us School Without Walls. It is not that I am ashamed but I will admit that saying that you are educating your child at home is a conversations stopper, a party pooper, it lands on people's ears like a big crazy cult.
It isn't the biggest deal in the world but we are both pretty tired of articulating it to the perimeter so explaining it to the rest of the world can be exhausing, plus by the end of the day of having a little school house I REALLY want to talk about something else or just not talk!! Son of mine still goes off to first grade at the regular school house. I don't know how long we will do this but so far so good. No freaking out please. I have not gone crazy. I have not joined a cult.

20 Year Reunion

Don't panic, and don't even try to figure out how old I really am because I graduated from high school at an unusually young age (ha!)
Really everyone looked great, honest, down to earth. I wish I had given myself a chance to get to know a lot of these people better during that time. I try not to have regrets about these things but I do. My life is amazing now but I know that is because I am no longer that person~happily free of being narrow minded.

OMG my Ads are gross!
I came to blog about the sublime character of Connie's Creamy Cone and a lovely day at Como Zoo & Twin City Reptile (those are some very serious pets) but eek, there is a coupon for Cub Foods on my blog with big graphically grossness. Should a smack the hand that feeds me or what? I will be back with pictures of Connie herself but I need to go now and ponder the future of ads.

getting hugged at work
I had a supremely stressful day out of the office, had root canal, family obligations etc that kept me from coming in. Had my job threatened, verbal flogging, uncomfortable anger directed at me. Then 2 days later (today) I got hugged and apologized to. This may be too much emotion in one tiny office por moi. Can we dial down the crazy or what. Talk about ups and downs.
Boy baby sick, fever cough, get better dang it, we're leaving soon!!

goin to mexico, can't afford it, who cares...hooray
Real life seems like a silly drag lately. In one week we get to pretend we don't have to work, practice piano, learn spelling words, clean up dog poop, cook dinner nuthin. We are just going to be lazy turds in the sun and that is why vacation is my friend.

I am a working girl again (careful what you wish for). life is amazingly busy and not always in the best ways. Still managing to read, do pottery (barely), feed my kids, do laundry, drink more coffee that is about it.
